Spend less time doing laundry - Time-saving laundry hacks

Doing laundry isn't one of the most exciting things in the world. So here are a few tips on how to get it done quickly to allow you to get on with your day.

Time Saving Laundry Tips

  1. Avoid buying clothes that need to be handwashed - They might be nice but they will take up much more time so avoid them where possible.
  2. Organise your clothes as you put them in the dirty washing - We have three laundry baskets - darks, lights and whites, and underwear. It means you can grab a basket and throw the clothes into the machine without any thought.
  3. Treat a stain as soon as you see it - It may seem like a faff at the time but it will save you time in the long run. Blot the stain immediately, put some stain remover on and soak it until you are able to wash it.
  4. Use quality laundry detergent - Such as Reco Laundry Detergent Sheets (plus they come in plastic-free packaging!) to get great results first time.
  5. Read up about the machine's different cycles - If you are washing nappies, you will obviously want a longer wash with a pre wash but with some things, you will be able to get away with a quick cycle which will save you time while still delivering good results.
  6. Fill the machine with the right amount of clothes - Under filling the machine is inefficient and bad for the environment and overfilling the machine is ineffective so won't actually save you time in the long run.
  7. Fold your clothes as soon as they are dry - Whether you air dry your clothes or use a tumble drier, fold your clothes as soon as they are dry.

Job done!
